Exchange with Park Ridge High School, New Jersey, USA
This exchange with our American partner school is not an exchange of young tourists! As a partner of GAPP (German-American Partnership Program) you are expected to represent Germany and your school, and to integrate into school life at Park Ridge High School.
Like your American partners you go to school in the mornings and afternoons except when we are on trips to New York and Washington. Your host parents will give their best to make you feel at home if you integrate into their family. When your exchange partner comes to Pfullingen, you and your family are expected to host him/her with the same personal care that you received in the US!
Furthermore, you are expected to prepare a presentation for our trips to Washington and New York prior to our trip and to present Park Ridge in Pfullingen after the trip (GFS or similar).
The exchange is scheduled about 3 weeks in October and November every other year, including the autumn holidays. You will be in a group of about 20 students aged between 14 and 16.
Mr Karnein and Ms König will select the German exchange group on the basis of various criteria including your school performance and social skills. Together with Frau Erdmann, teacher of German and GAPP representative at Park Ridge High School, they are responsible for the program in the US and Germany.
